I got a real sense of late 12th and early 13th tribal culture and an education in the topography and geography of Central Asia. Totally disappointed with this book. She does a great job giving you an understanding of Mongol culture and a complicated look at his personality. Fans of Genghis will probably not love him in this, since he comes across soberank misogynistic and cruel in many places, but to me, this made it all the more interesting.
